no. Why would it be any better than local radio? I don't get why it's such a big deal.

There's already a million radio stations in town, and I only like 2 of them. The quality thing is a valid argument, though. However, the main reason I lsiten to the radio is bacause of the locality (not really the riught word...) of it. You can call up and win tickets to a concert in your town. When they do the traffic report, it actually helps you get to work on time, etc. If it wasn't for stull like that, I might as well jsut listen to CDs...

AphexII: Do you even try to win the tickets? A few of my friends won tickets and prizes from our radio station. My mom almost won 10 grand... A few seconds faster and it would have been hers, but oh well.
As for the satellite radio, I dont think it will become popular. Not many people are going to shell out money for it when there's still regular radio and CD's and cassette...
Now what would be cool is if you could specify what songs/albums they play....say, you select 10000 songs, and whenever you turn on your radio, you would hear something you know you would like. I wouldn't mind paying for that.
BTW, have you ever actually won a ticket by calling? I sure as hell havent.

One of my teachers had a tuner for the XM. She said it was awesome because of no commericals and lots channels. The only bad thing is the subscription fee. This is just my two cents worth though. You might as well save money and listen to local stations.
