Sorta kinda a garage question as I'd imagine that's where most people put them. I bought the 35" tall cabinet today and while unboxing it I noticed on the bottom piece a chunk was missing and there was a pretty good sized crack. I've heard for awhile now about Craftman tools going down hill quality wise. I can't find any real information about their resin cabinets so I dunno if it was just bad luck and I should exchange it. Or I should just return it and be done with the company. One car guy I know said he thinks they're made by Rubbermaid so it should be pretty decent quality. Maybe someone on here owns the same one or knows someone who has it? The fact I can't find a single review should be a red flag I guess lol

this is the one I bought

I can't speak for their cabinets, nor am I a pro mechanic or tool snob. But as a shadetree that has accumulated all sorts of tools over the past 25 years I will tell you I'm done with Sears/Craftsman. And I have a ton of Craftsman stuff.

Their model right now seems to be selling HF quality items at inflated prices. Not knocking HF, heck I got a lot of of HF stuff but at least I bought them without a premium.

It wouldn't surprise me if Rubbermaid made that cabinet and Sears probably made them scale the quality back to meet margins.

I own a couple Craftsman tool chests. Oldest one I have is built like a tank. The other one was given to me as a gift and was made around 10 years later. The quality on the second one is a joke. I shudder to think what they are like now.

tl;dr
What you got probably isn't a fluke and is another example of their decline of quality.
