Anyone here have AT&T internet service?

I'm thinking of switching from Comcast to AT&T internet service. I'm curious if AT&T are giving their customers wireless routers and if so I'd like to know if they use wireless G or N.

What did you guys get?

I had SBC Global before ATT bought it. Then after like 4 years of service I had some problems with connectivity so tech swapped 4yr old router for a new one. It is not wireless.

But, it is a modem/router in itself - if you want to share teh Interwebs with another router, you'll need to configure net on that other router and link it with one ATT gives you.

I believe they've been giving out 2 Wire modem/router combos. Those are typically 802.11g.

I've had the same DSL router since Pacific Bell first introduced "extended reach" DSL to my area...about 2001.

I'm seriously considering upgrading to the newer AT&T U-Verse service.

yup. it's a POS. sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't do anything yet I see no error lights on the modem. I connect to my neighbors routers and everything is fine again. I think they have ATT too, which puzzles me.
