buy a palm or clie.

i have previously owned the 1st gen palm, a visor, a clie and now the 5455.

i've been using it now for a few months ... long enough to know better. the only thing i havent really used on it is bluetooth. i don't own any other bluetooth devices.

biometric scanner: random accuracy. not something i would trust alone w/o a password. ie: useless.
wifi: weak and flaky. often forced to reset the device to get it working properly. not unlike like browsing on dialup.
the os: crap. nowhere near as stable as it should be after the years they've had. feels worse than windows95 pre osr2.

so .. the premium price point they demand for all the (barely working) extra features is hardly justifiable.

looking back .. there's not much the ipaq can do which the palm os devices cannot. so .. i say stay away from wince like devices for the next 5 years or so. given microsoft trends .. it'll be solid by around 2007. :D
