I'm looking to get a new bed for my wife and I and there is a 35% off the W Hotel Beds coupon going on right now and I'm about to bite on it.

I'm just wondering if anyone on here has this bed and if so, what is their opinion on it?

Are the W beds the same as the Westin "heavenly" beds, cause those are the best beds I ever sleeped in. I know they're part of the same hotel group.

I had a queen. I got rid of it. Too soft for my back. Nice quality mattress, though.

Sleeped in? I don't normally pick these out but this one was particularly funny to me :) (slept)

yea they are to my knowledge.

were you on a pillow top or a plush top? i have heard the pillow top can be TOO soft for a lot of people and the plush one is a lot firmer. i have back issues (2 partially bulging lumbar discs) and i was definitely looking at the plush top. i did find a company who has the bed on display though and I am going to check it out either today or tomorrow before i pull the plug and order it.

I loved Westin bed when I stayed in W, but when I looked at the prices they had listed in the room booklet - OMGWTFBBQ. So, I passed on the idea.

i was looking at that deal too but wouldn't consider jumping on it. I really need to test the bed first at a store or something before I'd consider buying one...my back is very picky

yea i was about to purchase it last night but then decided to wait to see if i could find a place to test it out on, and found a place less than a mile from me. so tonight or tomorrow the wife and i are going to go test it out.

i priced out everything i wanted last night though...

- King size with box spring and frame.
- the premium duvet
- 4 king pillows

turned out to be like $1600 delivered, but the total savings was about $820.

right now we're on an old ass full bed.

We've talked about replacing our mattress set with the Westin Heavenly Bed.

Hands down the best mattress set we've ever SLEPT on.

A bit spendy, but not that bad when comparing to quality mattresses elsewhere.

Read some of the old threads. Those deals come up all the time, usually more than 35% too. A lot of people have complaints after a year or so of the bed "sinking" in where they sleep.

I have a simmons beautyrest black it is great. Has not sunk in at all.

I think the W beds are either a lower quality black or a higher quality world class.

All black and world class are on sale at macy's currently as well.

This. Here's a 588-post thread on the subject. I really like the bed when I stayed at the Westin, but it was only one night. Are you getting all the bedding to go along with it? I think I remember reading people being disappointed in the bed if they didn't buy the bedding as well.

I'm going to be getting their pillows and duvet, but we already have a nice linen set that we got from our wedding as gifts (like 650 thread count or something) and a duvet cover.

keep in mind, that thread is also 3 years old, and after doing some research the matress has changed a tad for the better.

Nothing wrong with a good pillow-top mattress as long as the underlying support of the mattress is nice and firm. With my FUBAR'd back, I have to have a very firm mattress, but without a pillowtop, they're like sleeping on the floor...

We've stayed at the Westin Villas (timeshares) for as long as two weeks at a time. I LOVE the beds.

Pulling the plug?? You're not getting the mattress? Or pulling the trigger, and you are getting it?

You said you weren't getting the pillow top, so I assume it's the plush top?

I'm very curious about these mattresses as well.

pulling the trigger yea damn kinda hung over sorry.

it is really comfortable, and yea, im getting the plush. i tried both and while they are both comfortable the pillow was too soft for me. and you can just put one of those pillow cover things on top of your matress separately down the road if need be.

Like others have said they are just a relabeled Simmons. I'd personally never buy a bed I didn't actually lay on.

Go out and test them both (Simmons and W, or at least the comparable Simmons to the W you want) then order from the cheapest place.

I have had really good luck buying beds local. My best deal was at a JC Penney clearance of mismatched parts. I found both the matching foundations and king top in the lot.

Unfortunately it took 2 hours to get them to finally let me have it for the $300 it should have been (it was like $250 for any King mattress and $25 each for any foundation for it). It was a $1000 bed back in 1995 when I did this. The top wasn't supposed to be in the selection, I can't remember the manufacturer...it had some really nice multicolor tag on it though. We lucked out in finding the to matching platform pieces first. We figured at least both sides of the bottom would match and then whatever top we found that we liked would be perfect.

About 1 hour or so later (mattress shopping can be a lot of fun with the right partner) we found a pillow top that matched the first two platforms we found...we found a full Luxury King set.
