I busted my LCD screen and was wondering if anyone here could give me a blind walk through on saving my address book to the SIM chip.

I'm going to be working for the hotline tech support that deals with Cingular and my girlfriend has broken her tmobile phone's screen before.

Usually IF you are on warranty (I acknowledge you might not be) they will send you a box with a new phone that works and a separate box in order to send your phone back.

Thanks guys, but the whole problem I have is I can't see what I'm doing. I'd love to connect through bluetooth, but by default, I have bluetooth turn off, and I have no idea how to turn it on blindly. I talked to a Cingular rep and they are just about useless. I think I'm going to just cancel my service with Cingular and just use my Blackberry as my main phone (which I freakin' hate).

Anyway, thanks for the replies guys.

To turn BT on, press the left menu button, the one with three dots. press down and then right and then select to get in to the phone settings. Then press down six times to get to bluetooth. One you get in to the bluetooth screen, the first selection is to turn bluetooth on or off. press select once and it will activate bluetooth, you will hear a beep appr. 3 seconds after pressing select, which means it is on now. Hope this helps.

Holy crap dude, do you have the phone? Thanks for the bluetooth step-by-step, but can you give me the step-by-step to save the address book to the SIM chip? I'll turn the bluetooth on too and try to pull the info with my laptop at work.

Thanks!!

Edit: Oh, and when you say "select," do you mean the middle round button in between the arrows?

I had to transfer the phonebook from a D-807 with a cracked LCD to the SIM card, and after connecting it to a working LCD, realized that with the D-807 you can only copy entries to SIM one by one. I work at a cell phone repair shop :p

oh my bad, the bluetooth menu is the sixth option in the phone settings screen, which means you gotta press down five times to get to it. to get out of whatever menu you are in right now, press the hand up phone button. and try it again, pressing down FIVE times. i dun think u can transfer to the SIM, you can only transfer from the SIM to the phone, not the other way around. sorry dude, hope it works.

Well I think this will be the simplest approach and most likely, the most effective. So I went to Amazon and got me a GREAT deal on the USB cable.

Thanks guys, and hopefully when I get the cable I should be good to go!
