How does insurance work on a salvaged car? I think it's just more expensive than normal right?

Much depends on why the car has a salvage title.

The insurance company may either increase the comphrehensive costs or reduce the allowed coverage.

If the car is mechanically safe, then the liability coverage should not matter.

Best bet is to talk to you insurance agent.

The state may have rules about putting a salvaged title on the road - safety inspections, etc.

Why would it be more expensive? I would imagine it to be less, since the value of the car is much lower.
