So I'm trying to fix my nephews PS2 slim.
The laser on it was bad.
Initially I installed the laser, then I took it over to my bro in laws house. He only has a PS2 fat that uses a different power cable. So we plugged in the PSP power cable, and the PS2 video cables, and plugged it into the TV. The PS2 powered on, however no game would load and it LOOKED like the disc wasn't spinning at all.
I then realized I did not desolder the anti-static point on the new laser, so that explained why it wouldn't work.
Fastfoward to today, I just desoldered the point and installed the laser and all seems well.
However, I do not have any video cables at all here, and I only have a PSP plug. When I plug in the PSP plug, it powers on the PS2. However, it doesn't appear that the disc is spinning at all.
My request is if someone who has a PS2 slim and PSP can test out their PS2 with the PSP power cable and try to load a game up and see what happens. I also wanted to know if someone could try turning on the PS2 slim w/a game in there but the video cables not plugged in, and letting me know if there is any activity with the laser at all.
Thanks.
