I have a light for mine and it works pretty well. Worth the buy. Besides, you shouldn't play it at night, you could be neffing!

Dude I dunno..my little bro has one and it is horrible. Always requires either direct sunlight or he has to attach his "snakelight" thingie into the port and kill his batteries...

It's not annoying enough to keep from buying it. But it is annoying enough to keep you from playing certain games.

The GBA is the only real portable choice in America right now if you want to play games on the go. Only the darker games like Castlevania really hurt you. The brighter games like Advanced Wars and Puyo Pop don't bother many at all. If you do have a major problem with the darker games, you can always modify the GBA to be backlit, but that drains the batteries. The choice is up to you.

Personally I like the Wonderswan, GP32 and the NGPC. I only wish they would come over to America (or in the NGPC's case, I wish the parent company hadn't died out.

the screen is pretty good as long as u have decent lighting. the worm light is garbage. stay away from those pieces of crap. just get one of those miner's helmets.

the screen is great if you have a light. The newer games are brighter than the ones that came out during it's debut.

suprisingly, I like playing the GBA with the lights off...seems brighter. (that's with a light on the GBA, of course)

It's great if you're playing directly under a light. If you're not, you're screwed.

Why the hell would they have such poor product design?? Seems pretty dumb to me, even if it does save money...

Like the others have said, really depends on the game and the lighting. Also depends on the angle at which you look into the display. I may get myself one of the backlight mod kits too.
