Anyone here have a deviated nasal septum?

I recently found out after getting a ct scan of my face that I have a severely deviated septum.

The doctors are acting like it is no big deal but it seems to me like something I want to get fixed. I suffer from allergies and nosebleeds and have trouble breathing through my nose unless I take drugs so it seems to me like it would be very logical to fix it.

Anyone have experience with a deviated nasal septum?

I did. Made everything worse I think (nosebleeds, crustiness, rhinitis, etc...). Awful experience but my septum is now straight. Yay!! (not). i also think I cant taste as well

Very interesting. Most people I have talked to report a more positive experience.

How long ago did you have it done? How bad was the deviation?

I now get sinus infections. LOL so much for breathing better. Good side is she fixed the knott i had on my nose so now i have nice looking half functional nose! WOO HOO. The nose job was free.

I get sinus infections as well now.

The deviation wasn't that bad, I alos had a tubinate reduction. Going on a year now. nO improvements.

WAS A HORRIBLEY PAINFUL AND GROSS RECOVERY BTW!! Get lots o vicodin if you get it done.

I, too, have a deviated septum. Got nailed by a baseball when I was younger. The ENT doctor didn't think it was worth fixing at the time, but I sure wish I would have now. I'll probably never get it fixed, unless I start to have more problems. Only problems I have now are one side of my nose plugs easier when I get a cold. Only happens about once a year or so though, so I've never worried about it.
