If so, what kind of career do you/they have have, and how much are you making?

My dad does. And he's a parts delivery truck driver for a Cadillac dealership, barely making $10 an hour, lol.
He was going to be a state policeman, injured his knee in training, and couldn't do the physical minimum anymore... got his criminal justice degree though... however, since he's in his mid 50's and hasn't made any use of the degree since he left college, it's worthless.

My friend just graduated with one. He's looking to work for a law firm right now doing office work (he just wants to work in the environment). He may join a police force (was a cadet for a couple of years) or maybe even goto law school. If he went that route he wants to become a prosecutor.

The guy I know has a B.S. and is a state policeman. He worked for about 7 years in the field. He had to relocate to get advancement, but has since moved back to where he grew up and has a desk job for the most part. I think he is a seargent now with the state police.

Currently working on my degree and plan to go into Law Enforcement. My cousin has had his degree for around 2 years now, and works Corporate Security at a large national insurance company. Great benefits+ 50k year salary.

Could you elaborate on what your cousins job entails? Thanks :)

My brother has an AS Criminal Justice and a BS in Criminology. He is a full-time police officer in Colorado. I think he makes in the neighorhood of $50,000 plus decent pension and bennies.

He was making about $10,000/year more for another PD but it was high crime, big city politics, blacks crying police brutality every time they got caught breaking the law and finding some Johnny Cochran willing to file a complaint and a lawsuit (sorry, its the truth), the Mayor catering to the lowest common denominator of the community because that's who elects him, etc.

So he took a job in a nicer (smaller) community for less pay and doesn't regret a minute of it.

Basically, he is the night shift supervisor for around 25-30 buildings that this insurance company owns. 15 of them are in Alabama, and the rest are distributed throughout the nation. He sits in a control room and monitors cameras, alarms, and makes sure the physical security are doing their rounds. He has great benefits, a personal van driver, overtime if he wants it, and lots of vacation. He loves the job, and doesn't plan to do anything else. It can be a tad boring, but the pay is really good. He mainly spends his time telling physical security what to do, and making sure the buildings are not harmed. Pretty easy, but it is fairly complex considering the enormous amount of people and area you are responsible for.
