Just curious how it went.. I am having one done monday afternoon to help figure out where my wrist pain is coming from... We can't pinpoint the location...

I had one done in high school to see if I had chipped off part of my hip.

My hip was fine, but they did find that I only had one kidney. D'oh!

It's a painless thing. You go to the nuke lab and get injected. Let it sit for an hour, and then lay on a table under a scanner for another 30 minutes. Results come back several days later.
 
yeah. i had one done last month.

its nothing major. kinda scary when the tech came in with a needle in a steel container and its marked with the radioactive symbol.

they inject you with a dye. you wait 2-3 hours then get on a machine.
you have to lie completely still for 15 minutes. then you are done.

well that is what i went through for a full body bone scan anyway.

My wife had a bone scan a couple weeks ago. It was pretty painless, although that night she was not allowed near our newborn.

Just for kicks, I wonder what happens if you try going through an Airport security checkpoint with those radiation detection wands they have 😛
 
the technician was a bit surprised by the initial pics, my wrists were BRIGHT white, he said there is definately something going on 🙁
