For some insane reason my car's original owner went to ASC (American Sunroof Company) and paid them thousands of dollars to chop (part of) the roof off.
Since my ownership I used it rarely because the sunroof area is pointlessly tiny.
Anyway, few months ago it cannot be completely shut. Fortunately, water doesn't leak through, but the cabin noise has increased quite substantially at freeway speed.
I consulted a mechanic, and he suggested that I should go back to ASC to fix it. He said he cannot find the 'crank'/'screw' that moves glass. (the crank on a normal/OEM sunroof can be easily found; but since this is an aftermarket one, only ASC know how to do it properly

now, my question is, does anyone have experience in fixing aftermarket sunroof? I called ASC and the guy (nice person btw) told me they would charge me at least one hour of labor cost just to assess the problem (which is 60 bucks already).

The rear height adjustment screws have loosened and the glass has fallen. Notorious problem with those sunroofs. You don't need to find the crank (there isn't one anyway), just the screws, and don't remove them.

how can I find the 'screws' then? where would they normally be located?
[will take pic of car later]

Hmm, does this roof slide on top or inside the car? Celica usually got a topslider, and if it is a topslider then you may have another problem (broken track, cam slide, or cable).

If it is an inbuilt (glass slides inside) then the screws are underneath the covers on sides, just above the sunshade.

Pics would help a lot since there are several models. Does the roof still work at all?
