Anyone here got GTA3? I need help

Game works just fine but for some reason I can hear the sound effects just fine but when someone talks like when they are telling me what to do for my mission I can barely hear them. I checked my audio settings in the game. I have SFX/music all the way up,EAX enabled and more than 2 speakers. I have a set of Altec ACS56's and a Phillips Acoutic Edge sound card. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? Also is there a good site that has skins or d/l's for the game?

One last thing is there a way to check FPS in the game? I am running it at 12xx/1024 32bit. Is that to high for a 1.4 Athlon(non overclocked),256mbDDR and Geforce 3 Ti200(non overclocked)?

try putting the sound on direct hardware sound or something like that..as for the video..I don't know..the game ran pretty choppy for me at first, so I changed agp aperture size from 128mb to 32mb like someone said and it ran great all the way up to 1600x1200x32, but now it runs like crap even at 1024x768..hopefully it will fix it if I change agp aperture to something other than 32mb.
