I do- most people dont realize that Danny, err.. Daniel, is my middle name, and my first name is actually Steven.

anyone else do this? makes the first day of class a bitch, the professor is calling roll and is like "steven" and it takes me a second to realize they're talking to me.

oh well--- so-- any ohter middle namers out there?

Aww come on Kathryn isn't that bad.

It is kind of a gimpy spelling though (sorry :p)

I've been thinking of switching to my middle name.

My first name is Jonathan..which is alright, but it always gets shortened to John which I think is a terribly dull name.

My middle name is Eli, which is kinda neat and alot more unique, it's also nice and short so it won't get shortened. So I've been thinking of switching.

If I went by my middle name, people would be calling me, "A"

Yes, my middle name is "A."

It's the best english representation of the japanese word "Ei" which means prosperity / glory / honor.
Makes it easier to write down too. Otherwise I'd have to write this down every time. :)

My mom and dad gave each of their kids one name after (either first or middle) after another family member. My brother is a IV, after my father, grandfather, etc. My other brother is Ian Duncan, Duncan being the name of one of my uncles, and my first name, Caroline, was given because I have an "Aunt Caroline." She is a close friend of the family, and is considered family, even though not blood related. Problem is, Aunt Caroline is a bit, umm, off kilter in the head, so I guess the reason I go by my middle name is because of that???

I knew a kid whose name was Robert Matthew. Mid-year one day he decided that he wanted to be known as Matthew so overnight it changed to R. Matthew. Funny thing is, teachers make you fill out delaney cards with the name you want to be called, so he would put down "Matt". Then during class, the teacher would call "Matt" and he wouldn't answer. Then finally, she had to use his last name so the space cadet would answer. Boy did he deserve the abuse, every day someone would ask him, "Hey you, what name are you answering to today?" and he'd just sit there shaking his head. I'm pretty sure he has a long way of therapy to go in the future...
