Anyone here flown first class on a flight longer than ten hours?

I flew first class last year from SF to Seoul and it was nice. But I rather save the $$ and fly five or six times in economy. I was much more interested in just getting off the plane and continuing on my trip.

Used to fly to Israel for business and for flying coach one way, I could fly first class the other. It made a huge difference to me. Plenty of space and could sleep comfortably.

haven't flown first on a very long flight, but I have flown first SFO<->DEN a few times on 747 and yes they reclined into beds.

UAL fwiw

I mostly wound up flying business though which still has a pretty nice recline, just not your own little "compartment" type thing.

I have only flown on United and not the 747 either. I think it was a 767...

Hmmm... I didn't know they fly 747 from SFO to Denver. Also, I didn't know UA DOMESTIC First lays flat. Hmmm, maybe I didn't push the stupid buttons hard enough.

Flying to KOA on NWA in First is usually slightly less than double the price of coach through my travel agent.

EDIT: To answer the question, it's completely worth it.

If I'm flying business or first it's with miles or upgrades, no way in hell I'd spend thousands of my own money. That being said, it beats the hell out of coach, espeically on international flights. I have a tough time sleeping without ambien. But a lot of airlines are finally upgrading their international premium cabins with better seats.

I don't think I could do international. It was bad enough going from Chicago to Anchorage, AK
