Anyone here fish for Bass?

Whats your favorite lure(s)? I like the spinner/buzzbait/rooster tails the best. Looking to give some other stuff a try. What do you all like? And how do you fish it?

The 4" black walmart worms. Forgot what brand, but they have a spinning tail. Works wonders. Carolina Rig.

I am a big fan of Zoom 6"u-tale june bug and red bug worms (Texas rigged) and Hank Parker Classic spinner baits in white with Colorado blades.

That's two different companies 😛

Personally, I like to use 6" Culprit plastic worms, as long as the water's not too murky. If it is, I like to use Rattle Traps and big Colorado-blade (round, not pointed) spinnerbaits.

EDIT:

Culprit worms

Spinnerbaits

it's not about the lure, it's about the person doing the fishing and the place they are fishing at. i use a cheap repella lure and catch bass like crazy.

When you all fish the Carolina/Texas rig how do you fish it? Raising dropping motion(repeat),reel it in a couple foot and pause(repeat), or just reel it slowly off the bottom? I know each method works but which do you all use that works best?

yeah i just picked up fishing again about a year ago. I usually use minnows. Not sure what else there is and how to use it heh.

I got a bass accidently once while fishing for catfish. Didn't know bass were attracted to a ball of dough and some chicken liver.

My go to lure is Gary Yahamoto Senkos 6inch, darker colors, with a nice sharp Gamakatsu 2/0 hook, texas rigged. (weightless, and weedless). Watch your line carefully while it's sinking, they'll hit it fairly often while it's going down. Keep it tight enough to see if something moves with it, but not too tight. As you retrieve it, do so slowly. If you've never fished with them before, and think you're going slow enough, you're going wayyyyy too fast. Slow down. Think: "how fast does a nightcrawler wriggle around?" Not much faster than that. You need a decent pole as well, as crappy zebcos just won't feel the "strike." Most of the bass just inhale the worm and don't run with them. They just kinda suck them in. If you have a good pole, you'll feel every rock and weed on the bottom. Every once in a while, you have to make the decision if that resistance is from it bumped up against a weed, or if it's in the mouth of a big bass. At the slightest bit of unusual resistance, give the line an inch or so of slack and watch it carefully. If it budges , count to 3 and set the hook. I catch a LOT of bass this way (and the occasional northern or other larger fish that hits the worm on the way down. It takes a lot of patience, and a lot of practice - after a while, you'll get better and better at detecting bass inhaling your worm.

white strippers!!! theyre best for the fight....for food too hehe...

but lately ive been pier fishing.......seal beach pier....long beach pier.....etc...

i mostly get those land sharks...rays...and croakers....i do it to kill time...its fun...nothing beats fishing late late at night til the early morning...especailly in so cal with the cool breeze

I usually stick to Rainbows, Cutthroat, or Steelhead on a fly.
But I've fished for smallmouth a few times in the Umpqua river here in Oregon.
We just used worms and probably hooked one about every ten or twenty minutes.

Chickenliver is awesome catfish bait!!!!! The eggsacks from panfish works great also.

I used to be a big basshead before I started working 3rd shift. Now I sleep, work & surf. 😱

My favorite lures were...
* Clear water (surface) - Tiny Torpedo (Clear)
* Stained/Muddy water (surface) - Devil's Horse
* Heavy grass or wood (surface) - Uncle Buck's In-line Bucktail Buzzbait
* Clear water (mid depth fast) - Super Spot (Gold)
* Clear water (mid depth slow) - Tube bait (Clear with gold flakes) & Slider worms (Smoke with red flakes)
* Stained/Muddy - Open eye single or double Indiana spinnerbait (Gold blade) & Tube bait (Clear with silver flakes or Chartreuse with black flakes)
