I just applied for a job there, and know nothing of the area. Never even been close. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks, I've been there, just looking for anyone with more first-hand knowledge. I know there are guys here from Edmonton and Calgary areas, what can you guys tell me about the area?

Note: I grew up in the mid-Atlantic US (PA, NY, MD), and currently live in Sydney, Australia, if that helps.

Red Deer's a pretty nice city. Working class city with alot of people quite well off. Nice and clean from what I've seen. However you could describe alot of Alberta like that. :)

Mika would be someone to contact if you wanted a more first hand experience. He lives in Sherwood Park, and I think he used to live close to Red Deer.

Only drove through Red Deer on the way to BC. I don't remember much of it, except it was a tiny town.

Red Deer is a small city in south-central Alberta. I think of it mainly as the approximate halfway point between Calgary and Edmonton, but I'm sure in Red Deer they think of themselves differently.

I can tell you a bit more about the Province of Alberta if you'd like, or the country of Canada, but don't know much specifically about Red Deer.
