Anyone here familiar with eBay's policies on negative feedback? (horrible seller)

There is a "power seller" on eBay who completely abuses such a status. Their overall feedback is very high (20000+) and very deceiving (400+ negative/neutral feedbacks left for him in the past 12 months!).

The problem with this guy is that all of the feedback that he leaves for his buyers are 100% retaliatory, filled with utter garbarge and slander, no matter the situation. He always waits for others to leave him feedback first. For example, a buyer may leave him this:

Neutral - "a little slow, but very happy with product"

To which the seller will relatiate with:

Negative - "AVOID THIS JERK! TOTAL FRAUD! NOTHING BUT A LYING IDIOT! STUPID USER!"

The common complaints for him are that he ships very slow, and very poorly packed. Lots of "arrived broken, seller won't replace!" comments.

It just sickens me that this guy can get away with such bullsh*t! These are good buyers that leave him very fair comments, and he just destroys them in response. He's pretty much just a feedback destroyer. And since he rakes in lots of $$ for eBay, they won't do a damn thing about it. *rage* So ridiculous. And pure slander, to boot!! He verbally shreds people when they clearly don't deserve it. It's just not right.

Is there anything outside of the powers of eBay that can be done about him?

yeah that has been a complaint about ebay. If you leave anyone a negitive you are sure to get one. I have one negitive i recieved that way. i paid for a product wich it never came. I left a negitive feedback and recieved one in return.

I really wish ebay cared enough to do something about it. but they are not going to.

Yeah, well that's the problem with the way that eBay is structured. It's supposed to be "simple" and "easy to use"... so a lot of people go there who don't really know what they're doing. They're not encouraged to read feedback comments, but they always see the "98.4% positive feedback" with this seller's name.

In general, 98.4% is very high. In eBay terms, it's a very poor rating. But people (newer users) don't really realize this.
