So I'm writing a book for my company, it probably won't be published or anything and just be sold in ebook form, or distributed among conferences..

We're looking at 70-80 pages or so basically describing our industry and how it works, and having never really done something like this before, I'm not quite sure how it'll pan out..

Our expected release date is preliminary set for January of next year, which allows us plenty of time..so does anyone have any tips?

will it be filled with corporate espionage, back room deals and a lone whistle blower who saves the jobs of thousands of workers?

write one page at a time, make sure you are consistant and don't change voice or perspective if you can avoid it. Bumping the font size up is not an acceptable approach to reach the required length. Make sure the reader feels some emotion, slip in a joke, tell about when your mother/cat/dog died and it was the worst day of your life...right in the middle of a paragraph usually works best...ummmyeasowhatchagonnado.

Don't attempt to write the book all as one piece right at the beginning. Make an outline of topics you want/need to cover. Then make an outline for each topic. Use the individual outlines to write each chapter separately. Once you have completed each chapter, compile them into a book to see if it forms a logical progression. If not, make alterations until the book is completed. Let others read it without any comments by you, make sure you have a form for them to fill out with their comments/complaints. Stress that it is imperative they give an honest appraisal of the book and that they don't try to be nice.
