Anyone here ever pawned anything?

I'm bout to head back to college (and need some money) and have a nice amp and subwoofer sitting around, and there is a pawn shop down the street from me, think they'd take em? Like, do I have to have the original boxes to pawn them?

Pawn shops take just about anything. Don't expect to get much money for the items though.

I agree with minendo. I had a pretty nice pump shotgun that I used to pawn on a regular basis when I was desperate for beer money, and I got only $35 for it. It seems to me that I had to pay them back something like $50 or $55 to get my shotgun back though, which I did four or five times.

ebay is way better if you want to get rid of stuff you will probably get 60 to 80% of what the value is new if it is a popular item

eBay is the greatest thing ever for people who want to sell their used goods. Retailers who deal in used goods always screw you over. I know at least with musical instruments, they'll offer you roughly 1/4 of the new price. I was once offered something like 70 bucks on a 500 dollar bass. :disgust:

I've never pawned anything, but I bought a 19" monitor from a pawn shop for $150 about 4-5 years ago 🙂
