I was just wondering if anyone has made their own table here, and if so, do you have any pics of it?

I'm moving out and was thinking of getting one of those table top folding things that go on top of a round table, or possibly building my own oval shaped one. I just took a quick google search and saw there are a bunch of plans out there.

If you built one, you have pics of it, and can you link to the instructions you used to make yours? was it tough to build?

no, i made my own blackjack table though. no pics, sorry. it was easy. plywood (5/8" i think), cut to fit. you can buy banquet table replacement legs for cheap. screw em on. then buy some 1/4" cotton, a sheet of vinyl, and the table felt. start w/ the cotton, staple gun to the backside. then the vinyl. then the felt.

I have a friend that built his own table, spent a lot of time and money to make it just what he wanted. He nearly flipped out the first time something got spilled on it. Keep that in mind when you're thinking about who you'll have playing on it.

Yes, out of our regular poker group, 3 of us are woodworkers (1 does it for a living). Took a piece of 3/4" plywood and cut it into a hexagon, covered it with foam and put oak facing around it. We put the cheap green felt on it. Next we cut a circle out of 3/4" plywood and put foam on it, then covered it with the high-quality, black, poker felt and installed it in the middle of the hexagon.

So the green hexagon part is where your poker chips and drink sit and the middle (black circle part) is where you play.

I made a felt cover that fits over a round table. The cover has a draw string, so you wind up with a nice tight surface, perfect for dealing poker. I still have it, just don't have any poker buddies. Poker is good fun.

It's very easy if you know power tools, more specifically a plunge router. Aside from a drill, a router with a circle jig was all I used. Tables are 44" wide, with a 4" wide rail. Playing surface is a fabric called moleskin over 1/4" volara foam. Rail is one piece of marine vinyl heated and stretched over 1" HD foam. There are a few tricks to make a good table, if you actually build one, let me know.
