Anyone here ever had a hernia?

I think I may have a hernia. At least, that's what everyone is telling me. I have slight pressure/pain and a bit of swelling in one of my little buddies. I have a doctors appointment Monday, but I'm kinda freaked out. Anyone ever had a hernia or something similiar happen? Any help would be appreciated.

nope.. I had one in grade 7, took a hockey puck to the right one, and subsequently they found a hernia while checking me out.. but yeah, performance and everything is the same as it always was, if anything (assuming its on that crease of your leg / pelvis) you'll find that your leg will be easier to move.. like it receives signals better from the brain or something.

anyway its not a huge deal, just dont swing your leg off the hospital bed like I did. you'd think the stitches would tear, but have you ever pulled a peice of paper from a metal coil notebook? yeah. learn from my mistakes.

i got one now. Ive had it for a couple of years. Buy a mediacl truss. if its just a averedge tear of the wall, then you can live with it for a long time(with some associated pain). If its a major tear you can die.hope this helps

I've had three hernia surgeries. If you have one just get it fixed. Nowadays most hernia surgeries are performed as outpatient. You go in in the morning and leave in the afternoon.

With a good surgeon you can be walking the next day, in pain of course, and back to your normal routine in two or three weeks.

So there is no way to repair it?

If it is an inguinal hernia yes it can be intertwined in the spermatic cord of your "jewels". After u get out of the shower and ure scrotum is loose, push a finger up into your scrotum at about a 45 degree angle. You should do this without pain, if u feel resistance going up towards ure inner thigh, it could be your intenstines hanging into your scrotum. However, pain in the stomach often radiates so it could be a umbilical hernia. Go see a doctor.
