did you drop your pants to show ur doctor the damaged goods or were you sent to a specialist?

edit:
my friend is wondering if he should go see the family doctor (a long time doctor for him) or lookup a specialist which would cost more.

Nope, never. I always use a condom for anything less than serious monogomy. Back when I was skinny and cute I was able to get some one-night-stands on friday & saturday night. Any girl who will go home with you on the first night will go home with a hundred other guys on the first night, and already has.

The only time I felt safe about not using it was when I knew the girl was on the pill (I had actually seen the cute little pill packet and saw her take them) and we had been together a long time & monogomous. 6 months was always the minimum. Thats only happened twice in my life. No STD's. No kids (that I know of).

Getting back on topic, if I had any concerns I would have gone to my personal doctor first, then possibly been referred out to a specialist. Though its likely he would just prescribe antibiotics and then taken some blood. I think he'd give me the referral after the lab work came back.

sounds like "he" is embarrassed to show his family doctor his problem? a family physician is more than qualified to diagnosis an std or otherwise.

Your "friend" should go to a local public health clinic. They are pretty cheap. Unless you... I mean your friend waited too long... there is no need to see a specialist.

Do all STD's have the side effect of burning when you pee? I was under the assumption that something like chlamydia doesnt do any of this?

Thats what I had although often times its got no symptoms which is why 1 in 4 ppl have it. Herps obviously is permanent and has visual sores. The rest are a combination of sores/discharge/urinating with discomfort or pain.

If it was me, I'd probably go to a clinic somewhere outside of my area code. Not that I've ever done anything like that before, just saying, for your preference, I mean your friend...
