Anyone here ever get a blood shot eye but feel fine?

Have Had a blood shot eye for about a day and a half now, but I feel fine. Possible to be something else other than flu/cold, etc?
 
Got one for the first time a few months ago. Was bloodshot for 2 weeks. Started using some Optex or whatever, went away, came back about a week later, still felt perfectly normal. A week later went to the doctor, they couldn't see anything, gave me some eyedrops. They eventually made it go away, I stopped using them a bit early, it started coming back. Used eyedrops again, went away. Appeared briefly for a day last week.

sometimes if i keep my contacts on for too long. it does feel a bit irritating but i don't feel bad. my friend has bloodshot eyes all the time.he went to 6 different doctors and each perscribed him a different treatment. none of it worked so he just gave up. he feels perfectly fine though.
