the only nissan engine with torque is 3.5l and up.... I'll be the first to say that..

besides here's my "official" input

1989 CRX (regular.. not Si or HF)

Slow. SOOOO fun to drive. Looked like a buttwedge though. Really ugly. The sheetmetal was also REALLY thin.. it got dented sooo easily. The fenderwells rusted for no reason. It was a southern car.. we have no snow and no salt. No other cars really rust.. I didn't like the fact that it had a timing belt. I had it for 40k or so miles and never changed it though. Very low maintainence... it ate tires for some reason even though alignment was spot-on. Tranny was... gummy... feeling. I bought it at about 120k miles for $800, drove it until 160k or so until my dumbarse drunk of an uncle stole it and totalled it.

gas right? regular.

mpg? I have no idea. iirc it was really high but I really don't remember.
