I have recently started drinking peppermint tea with honey in the mornings, and I find it helps invigorate me (a bit). And I have also recently started drinking chamomile tea (again, with honey) in the evenings, because I find it helps relax me (a bit).
First (main) question: What is the general opinion on herbal teas? Valid use, or placebo effect?
Second question: I have a stressful job, and I was thinking of having chamomile tea during the day. Does it have any actual sedating effects, or just relaxing/calming ones? I don't want to be falling asleep at work... (Yes, yes, caffeine, I have that in some form when I wake up, but I avoid it after 12 noon as I am sensitive to it, and it makes it hard to fall asleep.)
Cheers!
