Anyone here crunching for Seti with a K6-3....?

I'm just wondering what I can expect from my other computer when I get it hooked up and crunching... I'm hoping to add a couple of WUs a day with it, but not sure what to expect...

I'm moving this weekend, and will be offline for several days. Next week, I'll have a little time to work on networking the extra computer with my main system. The main system is an XP-1600+ @1750MHz w/ 256 PC2700 ram... The other system is a K6III-450 with 256MB ram (Asus P5A mobo). The K6 system won't be doing much except crunching...

Thanks for any input....

🙂

Running one K6-III 450 with 512 MB ram but it is a NT4 server we use as a file server, VPN server, RAS server, and some others.

Does a WU about every 28 hours but I can't say how much the "other" activities affect the Seti time. Never ran it stand alone.

I had a K6-2 450 running SETI for a little while and it averaged 22-24 hours per WU. I wouldn't expect the K6-3 to be much better.

when I had my k63 running @450(stock) it did a couple of "avg" WU's in the 18:45 range. then I started feeding it "sweet' WU's, the times dropped to the 15:30-15:55 range.:Q Then I cranked it up to 600mhz(6x100). Now it throws out a WU about every 13:10. 🙂 almost as good as its going to get for a k6.

that would happen to be a k6"plus" would it?😛

oh yea, the mb is a epox mvp3g5(via mvp3 chipset), 1 stick 128MB(cas 2). 2 sticks of mem. add about 20-30min crunch time:disgust:
