Anyone here catfish?

Hey was wondering if anyone had some tips on catfishing like rigging,spotting,bait,ect.

I fish paylakes and ponds mostly. Anyone got a good doughball recipe that really works?

I caught a 9 pound catfish a few weeks ago. I used Shad but it was cut into about 5 peices. I caught the fish with the head of the shad with the hook going through both eyeballs :Q.

I stocked my lake with several hundred pounds of catfish a few years back...
Great fun fishing for them, best bait so far is raw, bloody chicken liver.
A big wad of fat juicy worms with a big sinker dragging on the bottom also works, and occaisionally get them with small sunfish.

When I used the Chicken liver it tended to get a little to slimy so to speak and would fall off the hook easy. A good thing to do if your using chicken liver is to get some thread and wrap it around the bait so it stays on the hook.

easiest way to catch cats, hook and a nightcrawler! put a sinker on about 14 inches above the hook and just throw it in and let it sit. Keep the line tight, and you can do a little slight jigging now and again. Of course if theres a lot of other fish in the area, you'll catch all them too. But if you think that theres some nice cats down there, thats the way to go.
