II think i saw man man play as an opener to modestmouse and they were a hoot at work i cant look them up but basically t was just a bunch of banging on crap with anything but their hands, a very interesting show!

Edit: yes that was them, u really have to see them in person to understand how / why they play horrid instruments

I like their early stuff, but they lost me after they got the new drummer and started writing mainstream pop. I love mainstream pop, but Modest Mouse are terrible at it. The lo-fi out-of-tune spaced-out stuff was their calling card and they left it behind.

I got burned out on them a couple years ago after they played a short, shitty set that I drove 2 hours to see, but I just recently made a pandora station of them and have listened since. Their early stuff is fucking awesome.
