Anyone here been to Turner Field?

My girlfriends birthday is Thursday. I am taking her to a Braves game Thursday night, and we are staying at a hotel and then seeing the sights Friday. I want to be able to drive to the hotel and get a cab to and from the game, allowing us to be ble to drink if we want to. I just dont know if a cab will be easy to get at the field. So has anyone ever been to a game there? Did you notice a lot of taxis floating around? Any tips?

Definitely take MARTA. I have been to Turner about 25 times and I almost always take the MARTA.

I went to the '96 Olympics in ATL, and back then it was just Olympic Stadium. Given that we were there the day after the Olympic Park bombing, there were ZERO taxis in sight.

We just drive up on the early and get decent parking. I know driving in HotLanta suxors, but it is cool just to drive around and check it out from all angles.

Another vote for MARTA...no traffic, and it's cheaper than a cab. Just not quite as private.

Haven't actually been to Turner Field yet, but I've driven past it lord knows how many times. Whenever we used to head down to Fulton County Stadium for a game, we'd park in the pay lots nearby...but I wouldn't recommend that.

MARTA seems like a winner. The schedule is down for maintenece though The hotel we are on is one Piedmont Avenue (actually the same street as the stadium, it just changes names 3 times) so I guess it will be pretty easy to catch a ride.

Last time I went to a braves game was a while back for post-season with some friends; but normally they free up a couple trains at least that are waiting for people to get their from the game....

I was up from mercer in macon, so we had a hotel room. We got there early and took marta from the hotel, while some others met us from school because they had later classes. Took them 30 mins longer to drive from the game then it did us taking marta...
