Looks like I might be attending a conference in PR this October for a week. I was thinking about having the woman tag-along with me and maybe hang out for a few extra vacation days.

Any reviews or recommendations?

My co-worker lived there for 6 months. He says that aside from the resorty tourist-oriented areas, it's nothing but a huge ghetto trash dump with roaming stray dogs.

Not the most flashy place as Goob pointed out, but there are some wonderful sites in PR. We hit the Fort in Old San Juan and the huge radio telescope Text and also a local cave tour. Drove across pretty much the whole terriitory. Make sure you stop and eat at one of the local huts on the side of the road. That was some of the best food we ate while visiting.

Enjoy it. Very poor country, but you will be in a tourist area. Friggin traffic is horrible. Natives are pretty cool, most depend on you visiting anyway. Keep the woman at home and find a Boriqua temporary gfriend whilst there.
