Hi. Im looking to get a bachelors degree in either finance or business marketing. I want to do acelerated learning, but how does Devry rank/is it seen by others? like a trashy community college, or something worthwhile? im meeting with an advisor tommorow. Thanks!

devry isnt looked up or down to really. so thats a good thing. itt tech on the other hand has a very bad rep. i know many companies that laugh at a resume from a itt tech professional. not that they should because itt tech is like anyone else..they give you the tools to succeed..its up to you how you use em. but they have been givin the rap as a cert farm. meaning they guarantee you'll be certified...whether or not you earn one. So stay away from that and devry should be fine.

Honestly you would be better off going to any other state school for your degree... as it's looked at as sort of an alternative to college rather than an actual college. If you;re going into the IT field I would probably recommend getting huge numbers of Tech certifications rather than a degree from devry... now if the degree INCLUDES alot of tech certs... then you found yourself a very good option.

Is DeVry like a normal school in that they have admissions requirements and what not or is it liek a CC in that anyone can take classes there?

what's up with the DeVry threads? Is it enrollment time (of just nervous HS senior season)?

I did a google search and it looks like DeVry has gotten better than the retard-accepting tech school it used to be. Unfortunately, not everyone who does hiring knows this.

I think someone would be better off with a BA from a regular state school and possibly an MCSE than someone who spent a ton of $$ for a DeVry degree.
