My wife was watching some show last night about adopted kids being reunited with lost family. If you are adopted, have you contacted or have a relationship with your birth family? Have you tried and it didn't work out?

It's too damn hard to find my birth family this many years later. Everyone has the same damn name. (I'm Korean with the name Kim). It has crossed my mind but there's 2 reasons I don't need to
1) My family is the one that raised me
2) They probably gave me up because they couldn't support me or needed to. They gave me a better life. I'm grateful for it.

I thought I was, I'm a red head and my parents are brunettes. but as an adult I wrote to my birth country and requested a copy of my birth certificate. Turns out I'm not. Sorry dad and mom :)

Yes, But my mom and dad raised me and I took care of them in their old age. Don't know my birth parents and don't want to.

Not that I know of. :p I've always wondered how it must be like to be adopted, and not know your real parents. That would just bother the heck out of me I think.

My wife is adopted. She has never had any real desire to find the woman who gave birth to her or the sperm donor. Her adoptive parents are her real Mother and Father.

Yes I am. Don't know who my biological parents are. I might however track them down some day.

I watched that too... on ABC.

I'm not adopted, but one of my brothers and I claim it from time to time. :p

So her real mom got in-vitro done because she couldn't get pregnant and then after all of it she said J/K when your wife popped out?

but Jules.... she might want to know her family's medical history. Also, the circumstances leading to her adoption may not be as unloving as she thinks.

i realize her adoptive parents are her real Mother and Father, but man... she may have siblings out there she doesn't know about.

I would have zero desire to find my biological parents if I found out.
