<-- poli sci, ucla, june 2003.
what am i doing? working in hell. i found a job so i could stay in LA. so i've been doing customer service for an internet company that i REALLY want out of.
i just interviewed with a legal company, and i think they like the fact i have cs experience and that i like the law itself.
as for things you can do... you can do a lot of different things, it just won't be related to your major. if you want those lobbying jobs, you either have to be really good, have the internships, or preferably, have a masters. and you'll have to work your way up the ladder once you get into the lobbying firm.
most of my poli sci friends are at law school or grad school. others double majored in something else and chose alternate career paths. teaching.. business etc. it's all in how well you do, what other things you learn, and how well you present yourself.
my future is most likely going to be going to grad school or law school. i just need to pick when.
as for the classes itself... pick what you like. there are requirements at each school you have to fulfill, but at least pick classes that will be interesting in you so that you don't fall asleep doing the reading. in every class, you are going to have the ULTIMATE nerd. the one that knew since he was five that he was going to law school so he could be a politician kind of nerd. he kisses up to the professor, asks questions to extend classes by 10 mins, etc.
