anyone help me get a codec for this error?

I am getting this error when i try to play a video on DivX and other video players just wont get any video

video file you are opening includes video data that is not regonized by the DivX player

the file contains the follow type of date :

Video date: FOURCC code "XVID"

You may need to install a new video codec on your computer to watch this video.

So can anyone help get me this codec !! thanks
