Anyone heard of ULTRA case's?

In my eyes, Ultra Cases are cheap cases that are meant to look nice but are not "super" high quality. I myself own an Ultra Microfly case and it does what I need it for.

I don't think they are selling the microFly any more, but they are still being made and sold under other names like Apevia. The one the OP is talking about sounds like the m998 (always good to be specific to get specific answers). The m998 is basically the same as the Akasa cases. Excellent case for techies (can be disassembled down to the frame). Amazon and Tiger Direct (which is actually part of the company that does Ultra Products if you were wondering why the reviews were so good) usually have the best prices on them, but I've seen decent at other resellers too (use your price search engines). Ultra does a range of models, some quite a bit better than others. The m998 is one of the good ones.

Believe it or not, the MicroFly and X-Qpack are made by different OEMs.

The m998 is a rebadged YCC small server chassis.

IMO the cases are some of Ultra's best products.

I have an old ultra case, and it's been doing a good job for about 10 years now. The thing sucks for noise levels, but if you can tolerate a loud machine then it's great. Mine was made out of aluminum though. It's paper thin and cools great.

Currently pulling 3.8ghz out of a 2.66 pentium d for about 3 years now and it's only running 2 90mm case fans that sound like they were beaten to near death

I have an ultra aluminus. I got it on sale a while back at Radio Shack. It's a great case feature wise. All aluminum, all removable bays and stuff like that. The only thing that bugs me is the old-school exterior that looks like the cases everyone used to use like 10 years ago.

Sorry, Evilbix, but Ultra Products hasn't even been around for 10 years. Some of their stuff just looks as if they have been. About 4 years is it for Ultra. But many others have sold similar looking cases for years before that like Antec, Chieftec, Chenming...

LOL, I just remembered that I still have a pending order at Frys.com for some Ultra cases, dating back to beginning of the year when they had a closeout and sold way more than they had. They cancelled one of the cases but never cancelled this order for two Aluminus, $100 shipped.

My first foray into custom built computers was with an Aluminus and the original force flex-chromed out-blinding blue LEDs 500w PSU from Radio Shack for about $40AMIR. At the time I thought it was the baddest thing ever, and that Sempron 754 system with a Radeon 9800XT was the envy of the neighborhood 😉

I currently own two Ultra Wizard cases, they are good for file servers but not much else. I also use a MircoFly BX6 for an HTPC, it's pretty slick.

Ultra has came along way (their PSU's used to be crap), but after owning Antec's and Lian Li's they can't really compare. I would only suggest one IF you get a killer deal. You won't be disappointed.
