I'm planning on buying a external hd from this company, i'm just not sure if they are reliable like proven brands such as Maxtor and Seagate....

Below is a link to the product page

Futureshop.ca

If anyone has bought XIMETA products or have used their products before, can you please give me your opinion....whether their products are good or bad

Thanks in advance.

There's a couple of guys over at SilentPCReview that have these. Apparently they're using either Seagate or Samsung drives in them, both which are of top quality.

We use them at work. They plug into the network and we back up data for off site storage on them. Had no problems so far.

The actual drive (inside the enclosure) is made by Samsung (unless they use other kinds as well).

Seem to be very good, as we sell many at work, & no complaints yet, save for one guy who couldn't get one to work with an old Win98 machine.

Thanks for all the replies, I guess i'll give Ximeta a chance since i'm saving about $100. I was originally set on a Maxtor 160GB external hd, but 120GB will do.
