Anyone heard of PS3 40gb drive issues?

PS3, has some good exclusive titles and blu ray player. Wii I've found I only use when a few friends are over otherwise it never gets used besides for a couple of games.

The PS3 has many of the same games as the Xbox 360, plus some fantastic exclusives.

The Wii has an entirely different set of games, most of which suck, plus some fantastic exclusives.

If you're looking for an entirely different gaming experience, get the Wii. If you're looking to add some more of the same types of games you have on the 360, get the PS3.

If you have a 360 already, a Wii would be better for variety. Most stuff on 360 is now on PS3 and vice versa. There are some exceptions, but I'm not sure if it's worth $400 to play MGS4, Uncharted and maybe Ratchet & Clank.

This is best answered by looking at what games each system offers and what types of games you play. I have both systems and I find myself playing PS3 more than Wii because of better graphics and better games offered by PSN.

I got my daughter the Wii but I never play it myself. For group gaming the sports and Mario Kart are fun on the Wii. For single player Mario Galaxy is very cool, but there may not be much more other than Zelda.

If you already have a 360 get a wii, unless your interested in MGS or death of man.. or something, the PS3 equivilent to gears of war i dont remember its name.

Wii is a multiplayer console. Almost all it's single player games blow. If you don't have friends that enjoy it, you won't either.

Resistance: Fall Of Man ?

The wii will definitely offer more variety, but that assumes you want its games.

I was an Atari & PC gamer during the Zelda/Mario era and I don't care about playing Mario Galaxy or Twilight Princess. For me the wii still doesn't have enough games that I want to play.

I have a PS3 and will be adding a Jasper 360 for its exclusives. Even though there's a large overlap in titles there are 360 games like Operation Darkness that I'll enjoy, plus the netflix streaming will be nice .

As always, you should look at the list of games for each console and think about which ones you would rent or buy. If there are 10 wii games vs. 3 PS3, get the wii. If there are 5 and 5 then decide if you care about blu-ray.

ditto. I may add a Jasper 360 also with the price drop and more reliable unit for exclusives also.

I'm thinking about buying a PS3 40gb for $275. Guy says its been taken out of the box to look at but not used. Curious since Sony requires proof of purchase should I just buy a new 80gb? I am hearing stories of a few blu-ray drives dieing in these.

Kind of odd that he just looked at it then didn't take it back to the store. Did he keep it for 6 motnhs without using it?

Sony out-of-warranty repair is $149 (vs. $99 for 360's non-RRoD fixes like DVD-ROM replacement), so it's a gamble.

It will also only include a sixaxis while a new $399 80GB model includes dual shock. If rumble matters to you that's ~$50 added to the $275.

says it was a gift and reason it wasn't played is because it didn't include a game or anything. I just keep reading how alot of the 40gb's have read issues.

QFT. Also, why would you even buy the 40GB when you can get the 80GB for the same price.
