Anyone heard of or use BDR Broadband?

I am moving from my house to an apartment. I have been told by the complex that DSL is not available, nor may I use Time Warner Roadrunner. They tell me If I want broadband I have to use a company called BDR Broadband (Blonder Tongue Broadband).

Their packages are as follows:
512 kbps downstream/256 kbps upstream $39.95/month

1 Mbps downstream/ 512 kbps upstream $49.95/month

The 1Mbps downstream seems a little slower than I expected cable to be. Does anyone use this company and have any info or opinions on it? The upstream is nice but I'm not sure about the downstream. Unfortunately this seems to be all that is available to me.
