Heh. I get it, but its not very funny .

Derek Smart created some spaceship game... Battleship Millenium AD or something like that. I forgot what it was called, It was very complicated and didn't appeal to the mass market. He kept launching these games, and they all flopped, simply because it was too complicated. He used to post on VE3D (Pre-IGN) where he consistantly got flamed.

Long story short, guy's a game designer with a history of generally being pretty egotistical about his projects, hyping them up immensely, and then either never delivering or taking years upon years to release what ultimately turns out to be a really flawed product. The big deal with him is that he participated very heavily on gaming newsgroups to publicize his products, but he was very bad about taking criticism, and ended up getting waaaaay to involved in flamewars about his work and doing all sorts of ridiculous antics as a result. One of the funnier stories about his temper problems involved his flaming out and attacking a Coke machine (don't remember the background of the story), so that always became a joke linked to him.
