Anyone heard of Audiophase-brand MP3 discmen from best buy?

I have no link, but this little doozy is a sweet $30 and comes with a CD-R/RW capable discman that will also play MP3s, and also has a car adapter built in. Sadly my CD player in one of the cars is on the fritz and I've not got much interest at the moment in really looking into it.

Obviously for $30 I should be happy if this thing turns on, let alone actually plays music, but I can hope right? Any experiences with this? It will sit only in the car...

I bought an Audiophase brand car AM/FM CD deck from Best Buy for $49 brand new probably 3 years ago now. I was figuring on getting maybe 6 months-a year out of it before it blew up, but it's still going strong today, and that poor deck has seen some abuse. I modified it a little though, I attached an active cooling fan to the heatsink on the back. It tended to get really hot when playing CDs for a long time.

I had an Audiophase CD-player that I bought in 1998 or 1999, which I used in my Toyota Camry. It still works today.

My firend has one. Very cheap, very plastic. It works... it plays mp3 cd's... it's cheap.

just got it - the best buy around me had a few others for $30~$35, one with am/fm tuner (but w/o the car adapter), and another one with water protection (again, not car adapter) . . ..

Works fine!

I think I picked up one of these for $20 on Black Friday last year (also from Best Buy). No complaints here - it works.

Sweet. I'm going to get one then. Thanks, all :) The three year old panasonic that I was using died last week (I was only using it at work), basically on the same day my car CD went down. I think that this will fit the bill :D
