Man this chick was intense and so filled with hate towards gay people. I mean damn she gives the Taliban a run for it's money. The really sad and disturbing part is that she is raising her kids to grow up to be gay bashing hateful individuals. Hell I was against that gay high school idea in New York but now I am beginning to see that maybe it was needed. Not to mention the fact that this crazy mutt basically used the Farwell explanation for 9/11 and said that the hi-jackers were instruments of "God" for the sins and evils ( a.k.a our freedoms and ability to tolerate others ) we allow in this nation. She said that because we have turned away from "Jesus Christ our savior" that America is being punished as it is the new Babylon, etc...

Everyone is entitled to their beliefs.....it is a basic tenet of our country.......I don't like a lot of the liberal wackos I see around here either, but I recognize their right to believe whatever they want.......

True I agree with you here. She has her right to her opinion and the right to be allowed to be heard as well. Yet I am sure as hell glad that there is this wall ( be thin or thick ) called separation of church and state. Her ideas on what should be done to gays is no different then what the Taliban would do to them as well. I think she made a perfect example of how extremist can be found even in our own nation and in any religion. Of course I will not solely put this burden on extremise on the right because I know that there are plenty of liberals who make me just as sick as this women made me feel sick today.

Too bad she's right and the sheeple can't see it.

You must be a Card Carrying Member of the 700 Club!

No, Pat Robertson is a liar and anti-Christ (not necessarily THE antichrist, just anti-Christ), why would I have anything to do with him?

Please elaborate.

I already have not too long ago in a thread title "Bush is the Antichrist" or some such. Just search for it.

Why would a "Christian" be on Howard Stern's show in the first place? She claims to be a Christian yet appears on the show of a notorious sex-maniac.

And avowed anti-Christian... makes ya wonder, don't it?

Obviously it was either a set-up or Stern found the biggest most non-representative whacko he could in order to make Christians look bad and further his own personal agenda.

And Pat Robertson isn't an antichrist. Technically, he's a false prophet.

False prophets are, by definition, anti-Christ.

Where do you get that idea? Just because a minority of the people who call themselves Christians run around spouting that BS doesn't mean that it isn't entirely against the teachings of Christ.

For now - no. When Yeshua returns and judges on the final day - yes.

That's apparent by your choice of words. I hope someday you will know him.

Maybe I don't want to know him. He sounds like a prick.

Did you guys hear about Pat Robertson using his "god powers" to order Isabel to stay back from the U.S. coast? Robertson has to be Christianity's biggest embarassment.

link

Virginia Beach, Virginia-AP -- The Reverend Pat Robertson, whose Christian Broadcasting Network could be hit by Hurricane Isabel, has asked God to turn the storm away from Virginia Beach and the U-S East Coast.

On today's broadcast of "The 700 Club," Robertson gave God credit for turning past hurricanes away in response to prayer.

Praying "in the name of Jesus," Robertson said he believes that God will put up "a wall of protection."

He added that he and those praying with him "command this storm to go out into the sea and to pass land harmlessly."

lol, that's excellent!

Strictly imho, but any religion that derives it's vailidty from some kind of "teamsters" based "i'll bust yer kneecaps if you don't join"/"you're going to hell if you don't convert to Christianity" sort of thing is invalid as a path of spiritual enlightenment (if there is such a thing.) If one is truly believes in the merits of a particular "style" of spirituality, then they would offer to share the noble aspects of their religion and not simply resort to threats of spiritual violence. If I were to believe and trust in Christ, it would be for reasons of love, not threats of damnation.

*Edited because I got sidetracked and failed to fully express the language in the first sentence :)*

You know who I dislike worse than bad Christians like southern fundies and their false prophet, Pat Robertson? People who have no clue what Chrisitianity is about but bash it anyway.

You oughta pick up the Bible and read it someday because that's exactly what Christ says to do (and not to do).

But yes, Pat Robertson is an embarassment to all Christianity. And it is especially sad because he deserves the ridicule tyhat he gets, though for reasons different than one might think. Like in DealMonkey's post about how he prayed to God to hold back the hurricane, it's not the fact that he prayed that was wrong. That was perfectly fine, if he had done it in private. It was the fact that he prayed before an audience of millions on national TV, giving the impression that only he had that type of power with God to hold back the hurricane, and thereby attempted to usurp the glory of God. You see, you laugh at him not because he's actually praying to God to stop a hurricane, but because you know that even if God existed ("if" included because I know you doubt), he would never grant such a prayer to one as arrogant as that. You know this instinctively.

So what does he say now that Isabel gave God the finger and didn't turn away??
