<< Acer TravelMate 740

Though the CPU won't be available until the end of July, Acer has announced its new Pentium III-M-based (code-named Tualatin) TravelMate 740. It's also first out of the gate to implement ATI's new ATI Mobility Radeon M6-S chipset (configured with 16MB DDR SDRAM), which promises to bring business computing graphics performance up to gamers' speed. Other notable features in the 3-spindle notebook include CPU speeds of 1 GHz, 1.06 GHz, and 1.13GHz, a 15-inch display, a 20GB hard drive, 128MB RAM, and a DVD-ROM/CD-R/RW combo drive standard.

Estimated price: starts at $2,399; Availability: late August 2001

What pisse me off is that Dell dropped the 32GB IBM Travelstar 32GH hard drive from the configurations. Now if I wanted 5400rpm, I would have to spend $550 to upgrade to the 48GB Travelstar:| If Dell just went with Athlon4's, the world would be perfect! But in a non perfect world, at least we'll definately get the P3M/GeForce2 Go combo! I suggest you wait for that😀
