Anyone having wireless problems with DD-WRT?

My friend and I are both having wireless problems with DD-WRT. We are using flashed Buffalo routers. The problem is that sometimes the Internet will simply stop working, but we can still access the router's web GUI. We have different providers, and when we plug the computer straight into the cable modem the Internet works fine. Any ideas as to what's up?

I had a problem where I couldn't find the wireless with one of my buffalo/dd-wrt routers, but rebooting it solved that. It isn't used very much/often though and sits behind a firewall only allowing ipsec traffic through...

The other is in client mode (and pushes a LOT more data) and it hasn't had a problem yet.

Nope, mine's been running for four months now and not a single glitch. If you can still access the web GUI, the wireless is working fine. It's something between the router and internet. You need to try doing ping's and traceroute's when it's happening to pinpoint the problem. It may be the WAN on the router, may be the cable modem itself. I'm assuming when this happens you unplug the cable modem, then you plug a PC directly to the cable modem and turn it back on, correct? So each time your power cycling the cable modem. Next time try doing just one step (1, power cycle the cable modem but leave the buffalo router plugged in, after the modem is rebooted, try the internet again after making sure the router has a proper IP address)

Did you check your WAN IP from the DD-WRT configuration page?

If you have a vaild WAN IP, try using static DNS which your ISP released for you.

Good luck.

I also have Bufallo G54 running ddwrt v0.23 sp2

Runnig great so far for 2 weeks. No wifi issues.

Love DD-WRT
