Am looking at moving some stocks around and wouldn't mind some ideas if anyone wants to share.

there's a few others. will PROBABLY benefit big-time from the high fuel costs
that are strangling the truckers.

I mean, would a company like Callaway golf company be a good idea?

More rich baby boomers retiring = more golf clubs being sold. Only costs $14.56 a share.

Call me crazy, but I am browsing the entire NYSE listings for ideas.

World Wrestling Entertainment and Blizzard/Activision stocks have been doing great despite everything. Do some quick recent history research and you will see what I mean.

After today's announcement, GE is looking very tempting from a long-term perspective.

That's a fact. Nice dividend and a solid track record.

Absolutely.

Railroads (Union Pacific)
Healthcare (Gilead Sciences, Express Scripts, Teva, Mylan, Johnson & Jonson, Covidien, Mindray Medical)
Energy (National Oilwell Varco, Penn West Energy Trust)
Consumer staples (Kraft, Waste Management Inc)
Conglomerates (Leucaida National Corp)
Materials (Freeport Mc-Moran, BHP Billiton)

Some companies are on fire sale this season.
I just opened a new stake in GE this morning about 50 minutes ago.
I'm disappointed in myself that I missed the fire sale in Schering-Plough.

I'm even having success with 2 out of 3 my mutual funds.
FAIRX: +0.13% YTD
VIPSX: +3.62% YTD
VEURX: -6.08% YTD

S&P 500:-8.13% YTD

WWE is a good company in that it has little correlation with the markets and less risk.
I looked at WWE in July last year, but I was worried that the company is writing checks that one can't cash.
That's why I didn't invest in it.

The company has had a nice run up since then which showed I was wrong and missed out.
However, I still wouldn't invest in it now. They have little debt, I'll give you that though.

And no, I don't expect video gaming companies to be affected by the recession.
