Anyone having Problems with XP Pro and getting Windows Update to work?

Had XP Pro installed in my XP 1800+ rig. Everything was peachy.

Switched to an OC'ed P4 rig, reformatted, reinstalled, and now Windows Update won't work at all for me. Yeah, I know I can manually install the updates, but I tend to lose track, and find Update just a heck of a lot easier. I've got automatic updating off, but I periodically check the Update site.

Anyone experiencing the same problem, or hear about any fixes?

Thanks.

EDIT: My exact problem is I go to the Update site, click "scan for updates" and nada. It just won't scan at all.

There's been an inordinant number of posts adout this XP/WinUpdate problem over the last few weeks, but Update works fine for me whenever I check it.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions, but my guess would be that it's a configuration problem on your end, since it works fine for me when I use it.

canadianpsycho, I'm using XP Pro and I just checked the Windows Update site, everything works fine from here 😕

Just found the solution....

Checked another thread (I kinda didn't read up before posting, heh 😱) Looks like de-selecting "Automatically Detect Settings" in the LAN settings under connections in the IE Tools fixed the problem. 😉
