EVGA said they are getting theirs in a week. I had the impression that they will be offering it for individual sale on their store. Aquacomputer is about 10 days away from getting theirs in and EK should be any day now. I'm sure the first batch will sell out quickly though. I'll probably pay the premium for the aquacomputer one.
Why? It's exposed copper and all that goes with it. I've become a big fan of the nickle plated for looks and long term looks.
The aquacomputer has deeper channels and thinner fins, plus it is all metal except for the ports which provides better conductivity. Half of the contact area on the EK is plexi/acetal. The EVGA one is the worst though. Only the very bottom is metal.
I'll most likely wait to see what the consensus is once they hit the market. I like the nickel, but have been put off a bit from the previous flaking issues. They've addressed it, but it still makes me apprehensive, especially considering how long it took to remedy the problem last time.
Interesting. You think the all metal contact area cools better? I figure since the IC contact is broken by O-ring in all models it doesn't matter what the top is made of. Heat is carried over bottom plate and that's it.
Either wrong water or mixing metals. My copper blocks look like brand new shinny on inside after years. However I use lab grade nanopure water and don't mix metals.
Outside not much you can do. Due to salts and water in the air. I guess spray it down with laquer or other coating would work though.

If you are still looking, they are available direct from ek on their website now.
I have and while it contains good info, the forum itself is horrible. RedRaider is one of the most abusive, abrasive people on the internet, every troll on ATOT included. If you happen to simply disagree with anything he posts, he first calls you "Negro" or worse, then bans you. If you say you use any Swiftech or Koolance product (and Koolance has some of the best machined blocks on the market, like their 370 cpu block---an absolutely gorgeous machined block), he derides you, belittles you, then bans you.
While RRTech is chock full of info, it's just not worth having to put up with the blatant racism and childish bullying that goes on there if you don't march in lockstep with RR's opinions to maintain a membership there. It's sort of like RR is the watercooling hobby's Rush Limbaugh....he's always right and if you disagree, he outshouts you and then pulls the ban hammer, just because you have a differing opinion to his.
Give me adults that will have discussions, like XS, instead of the crap RRTech pulls.
AFAIK nobody has ever been banned from RRTech except multiple accounts. Also, from what I've seen, Red only is "abusive" to people who are wrong. If you're right, and most of the time the people in question aren't, he would probably admit to you having good information and then call you names.
The automatic overclocking is crap.

@ 50c degrees and up but below 60c degree = 1228 gpu clock speed
This is while running Heaven benchmark. Edit: Same for Bf3
I'm basically being penalized for keeping my card under 50c degrees
