anyone having issues downloading IE8?

Ive been trying to download IE8 for the last hour with no luck. First i tried with firefox with no luck. I thought it was a firefox issue so i opened up IE7 and still it does the same damn thing. Here is what happens:

I go to the following page:
http://www.microsoft.com/windo...xplorer/thank-you.aspx

which has the following blurb:
If your download does not start automatically click here.

I "click here" because the download never starts with redirects me to here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windo...r/worldwide-sites.aspx

Where i then select "United Staes" & "Vista 64-bit"

which redirects me back to
http://www.microsoft.com/windo...xplorer/thank-you.aspx

this is really pissing me off. Anyone have a clue whats going on?

I found out i can go to the MSN site and try to download the version there and i do get a dialog for setup.exe but it comes with a bunch of extra crap i don't want like msn toolbar.
 
if anyone wouldn't mind try to go there now....the link i provided and see if you even get a dialog to download...probably setup.exe but just don't download/install it of course if you dont' want it.
 
I got it from here, it doesn't show the option to download now, I guess because I have it installed.

I'm sure you do to indirectly. A lot of applications have pieces of IE that use to render different things.

It was a joke, I work in IT in the medical field and am all too aware of how often chunks of IE gets embeded in things.
 
Wierd crap....i decided to load my Virtual Machine of Windows 7 beta with ie8 beta. I'm downloading it now to my network drive and will install from there. I don't know what the issue is. Neither ie7 or Firefox would download it. Oh i even just tried chrome...same thing.
 
I downloaded from firefox, perhaps MS servers are getting trashed with people coming home from the job.
 
 
 
Found the issue. For anyone curious what the issue was it was kaspersky. Its really really wierd because i don't have KIS (kaspersky internet security) i have just the regular kaspersky antivir. When i paused protection with kaspersky it came through fine. I have no idea why kaspersky would stop it.
 
whoa IE8 got released today? thought it was still in beta...oh well, time for me to download it! thanks OP and everyone for the heads up and dl links! 🙂

It's sad how people can be so arrogant on the internet. Maybe, just maybe we'd like to try the new IE. Or maybe some of us are web developers and want to make sure everything renders correctly. Or maybe, gosh darn it, there are some people that just don't care that much.

Personally, I'm a Chrome/Opera fan, but yes, people still do use IE. As a matter of fact, about half of the visitors to my website do, and that's with a very young target audience.
 
Downloaded at 23Mbit/sec off the main IE8 site using IE8 RC1. Took about 5 seconds.

Downloaded and installed it. ah heck changed my Internet settings though. Now I have to remember where to tick in Internet Options to have my browser connect automatically. And it set itself as the default browser without asking me. Had to fix that too. Gotta keep Avant as my default browser. :frown:
