Here in Charlotte it is rainy and very windy and about 50 degrees out.

Basically lousy ass weather.

Anyone having a white Christmas with fresh falling snow etc etc??

Not really. There's still a good amount of snow on the ground from last weekend's big storm though.

Still lots left from last weekends storm here in Virginia, not perfect but still a nice rarity for this area.

Not in Virginny. We got lots of snow last week, but its been melting into ugly spots and we are expecting freezing rain today.

In fact, in my 30 christmases I can only recall one that was snowing and pretty and not unpleasant. And that was in Minnesota.

This was taken yesterday (Christmas eve), about noon time, from outside my apartment door.

Now that might not seem bad for someone up north, but this is central north Texas, about 2 hours drive north of the Dallas-Ft Worth area......where they have no idea what a snow plow or snow shovel is!

Unofficial numbers last night were 6 to 7 inches of snow in this area. Only getting up to 30F today, so very little melting will occur (if any), and what does will freeze again come night time, when the temps will be back down in the teens again. Definitely going to be a white Christmas here!

The bad part is that they have no way to remove it from the roads, short of just waiting for it to melt. There was a pretty bad accident, involving big rigs, on the highway about 15 miles out of town. They had no way to get any tow trucks out there, or anything else big enough to clear the wrecks from the highway, and TONS of people stuck behind the accident, with no way to go forward, backward, or any-ward else!

Of course, the fun part is watching the people with absolutely NO IDEA of how to drive in this stuff. To an imported yankee like myself, it's fun to watch!

I see nothing but snow and frozen corpses who attempted to flee from their homes. I shall venture out later and collect some "provision" for my x-mas feast.

I don't know what part of Virginia you are in but I just took these after reading your post:

I haven't seen a white Christmas since I left high school 20 years ago.

One of these days I'll have to spend Christmas in the mountains or something similar.

No, lousy weather. It also sucks so far because I only got 4 hours of sleep and now get to take a 2 hour car ride. X_X Went to bed at 1:00AM, didn't fall asleep until 5:00AM... Woke up at 9:00AM! Hip-hip.. >_>

My parents just brought my snowmobile down to Minneapolis yesterday. It's perfect timing, if I were to guess, I'd say there's a foot, possibly more, already on the ground and it's supposed to keep snowing through Saturday night. I'm going to really let 'er rip after work tonight!

It started coming down hard yesterday. Got probably 6 or 7 inches right now and its supposed to start snowing again here before too long.

There is still snow up on the mountains. Down here is is clear and crisp.

I did scrape the mold off the ham and used a hacksaw to saw it up into dinner-sized pieces. It doesn't get any more Christmassy than that.

Rain. I'm in Illinois for pete's sake, and it's raining on Christmas day. This is retarded. Earlier it even looked like a thunderstorm.

No... but I had snow on Christmas eve and a little bit of snow on the ground christmas morning....in central texas!

I'm happy, I've never seen a white christmas before (apparently I've been a part of one when I was 3, but obviously I don't remember it).

Edit: We didn't get as much snow as dfw did (I'm a bit further south), but the leftovers were fine with me.

Not really. I'm stuck working today. It is white though, maybe 5 inches of snow on the ground. Fortunately it's not too cold today, only -9F with -24F windchill.
